Plum Shawl

This soft yarn works up nicely into this slightly lacy triangular shawl. It is a shallow, wide triangle, perfect to wrap around your neck.
I used 2 skeins of Heartland in Hot Springs with a J hook.
Ch 5
Row 1: (dc, ch 2, dc, trc) in 5th ch from hook
Row 2: ch 4, turn, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in trc, ch 1, 2dc cluster in ch 2 sp, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 2, dc, trc) in top of ch 5 sp
Row 3: ch 4, turn, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in trc, *ch 1, 2dc cluster in ch 2 sp, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in 2dc cluster; rep from * to end across to last 2 dc cluster, ch 1, 2dc cluster in ch 2 sp, ch 1, (2 dc, ch 2, dc, trc) in top of ch 4 sp

*2dc cluster is just like a dc2tog, but it is only in one space*

Rep row 3 until desired size.
Edging:
Don't cut yarn, sc around two edges.
Row 1: ch 4, turn, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in 1st sc, *ch 1, sk 3 sc, 2dc cluster in next sc, ch 1, sk 3 sc(2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next sc; rep from * to end across ( you may have to fudge it a little bit at the center point to get a (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) at the center)
Row 2 and 3: row 3 of main body
Fasten off, weave in any remaining ends.
This stitch is perfect to show some design but still be nice and warm.
My finished shawl is 88" across the top and 20" deep.
I hope you enjoy this pattern!
Xoxo, Alyssa

  1. Hi! I wanted to make a swatch, and I think you're missing something in Row 3. Thanks!

    1. I read through it an found a spot that should have been 2dc cluster, and I had just had 2dc. I fixed that typo, but if you were thinking of something else, I'm not sure what it is.
      Hope that fixed it!

    2. Thank you for your reply! Yes, I think that's it. I'll make up another swatch and see how it goes. :)
