Purple Fisherman's Rib Cowl

This chunky knit will keep you warn on a bitter cold day, while giving you a burst of color to remind you that spring will come!
I used two skeins of Hometown USA in Minneapolis Purple with size 15 needles.
Co 16, long tail method
Row 1: (k1, p1) across
Row 2: (k1, yo, sl 1 purl wise) across
Row 3: (k1 tog with yo from previous row, yo, sl 1 purl wise) across
Repeat row three until you are almost out of yarn, then cast off
To cast off: (k1 tog with yo from previous row, p1) across
Bo in k1, p1
Fasten off, seam ends together, and weave in any remaining tails.
The chunky Fisherman's rib will keep you nice and warm this winter. My finished scarf is 60"x 8".
Enjoy!
Xoxo, Alyssa

  4. Pretty cowl! Thanks for the instructions. May I know what does "Bo" in the last 2nd step mean?

    1. Bo means bind off. Essentially, you will bo in k1, p1, but above I have written how it's done, since there are the yos from the previous row.

  7. I love the look of this cowl! I would like to make it thicker but I'm not sure what increment I should use(groups of 2 4 or 6 stitches) to keep the pattern correct. thanks!

    2. I did this in a chunky, but it didn't look quite right, so I checked on the yarn weight and according to ravelry it is a #6 super Bulky, so I've made it again and it came out much better.
