An Update
I've been taking a break from writing patterns for a while now. I've tried to still respond to comments on posts here and on Ravelry, where my username is crazyalyssa.
I took a break from knitting and crocheting for a while, to focus on other things, and to work on a counted cross stitch project that I began about six years ago. I would do tiny bits at a time, then get bored and put it down. I came across it last January, and decided I wanted to finally finish it. It took me such a long time, but I finally completed it.
This was my first large needlepoint project, and I'm not sure I'll have the patience to do another one for a long time! Following those tiny charts and stitches may have killed my up close vision though!
After finishing it, I washed it as per the instructions, and framed it. I've been dancing since kindergarten, and ballet means so much to me.
After finishing that, I decided I wanted to crochet a blanket. I liked this square, and then swatched it. I then edited it a bit to make it smaller and have fewer rows. Here is my final blanket, Victorian Lattice Throw.
As for the blog, I hope to start writing a few patterns again. I don't think I will be posting as often as I previously did, as I simply don't have time, but I would love to get back into it. I have tried to answer questions as they come up, but sometimes I forget what the pattern was, since I may have made it four or five years ago, and I may have given the scarf as a gift, or not have it with me to look at to answer questions.
I know a lot of people ask for videos for some projects, so I would also like to figure out how to start doing that too.

As someone who's been dancing pretty much her whole life (Dad used to say my first dance was The Twist as an infant sitting in my highchair...lol), I have to say you did a fabulous job on your needlepoint project. Makes me think of Degas' ballerina paintings! 8D
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your scarf & shawl designs, the triangular ones in particular. Right now, I'm torn between the Amethyst Triangle Shawl & blue lacy bias one. They both seem to have the design elements I've been looking for: a short triangle with extra long tails for wrapping.
I'm so glad you like my patterns! I have to admit, I am partial to designs knit on the bias.
